Campfires glow. The staccato harmony of a guitar blends
with the sharp percussion of tambourines and stamping feet. Skirts,
hair, dust, and scarves form a whirl of color in the deep night. This is the gypsy camp. Kelly captures the passion, the color, and the little bit of magic found only in the gaudy circle of gypsy wagons. Dressed in a white blouse with lace off-the-shoulder collar gathered with green ribbon and a full, flowered skirt, she keeps rhythm with her bare feet and beribboned, handcrafted tambourine. Her gauzy orange headscarf, brilliant red sash (frayed at the ends to resemble fringe), and purple "petticoat" (attached to her skirt) add flashes of color; while her golden hoop earrings add some glitter. Formerly Camping Marisa, Miss Romania has had a complete facial repaint including brown sideglancing eyes, cherry red lips, individual teeth, feathered eyebrows, and a hint of blush. Her hair has also been permed into a mass of soft curls. Miss Romania won the Best Scene category in the 2002 KellyKlub DOTW Kontest. See below for more photos. |
